Who's Coming?
Phi Sig Weekend
Boat Cruise in Boston
July 20th
In-Person - Charlestown Navy Yard
Celebrate Phi Sig Weekend in Boston with a cruise around Boston Harbor on a Cycleboat.
The cruise will depart from the Pier 6 Restaurant Dock at the Charlestown Navy Yard. There is paid parking available at the Flagship Wharf parking garage, and street parking available (no time limits on Saturday).
Although it is a pedal boat, pedaling is not required and passengers are able to freely move around the boat for the duration of the cruise.
The cruise is BYOB friendly (no hard alcohol) so bring your own beer, seltzers, wine, or pre-mixed cocktails. The boat comes fully stocked with ice and coolers, so just bring your beverages and you're good to go.
Space is limited to 26 people on the boat, so register early to reserve your spot!
After the cruise we will walk over to The Anchor, Boston's only two-story open-air beer and wine garden. The Anchor is conveniently located in the Charlestown Navy Yard, a short 5 minute walk from the dock.
The Anchor offers a diverse selection of beers, wines, sangrias, frozen beverages, coffee, teas and lemonade. A variety of food options are available including lobster rolls, nachos, tacos, sliders, pulled pork sandwiches, and ice cream.
There is no cost to reserve the space at The Anchor, so feel free to hang out as long as you want after the cruise. Feel free to skip the cruise altogether and meet us at The Anchor for food/drink after.
Mark your calendars now! Registration will open in May.
FAQs
Where does the cruise depart?
Our cruise departs from the Pier 6 Restaurant Dock, at the Charlestown Navy Yard (1 8th St, Charlestown, MA 02129).
How do I get to the dock?
Public Transportation - Walking: The Pier 6 dock is a 1.2 mile walk from the North Station T-Stop along the Freedom Trail and through the Navy Yard National Park.
Public Transportation - Water Shuttle: Take the MBTA water shuttle from Long Wharf (downtown Boston) to Navy Yard Pier 4, and walk 3 minutes to the Pier 6 dock. The MBTA water shuttle departs every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour. For more information on the MBTA water shuttle, click HERE for the MBTA website.
Driving: There is limited street parking available around the Navy Yard (no time limits on Saturday). Paid parking is available at the Flagship Wharf parking garage.
The recommended parking option is the Flagship Wharf parking garage
How much does the cruise cost?
Tickets cost $60/person (includes taxes, and fees). Gratuity is not included - the crews do accept cash and venmo on-board.
Who's invited? Can I bring a plus-one?
All brothers are invited! This event is open to family and friends as well, so please feel free to bring a plus-one. The more the merrier!
What is a Cycleboat?
Each cycleboat has a center table with coolers and ice for drinks. Around the center table are bike seats that have pedals. At the back of the boat is a paddle wheel that can be raised or lowered to adjust the resistance of pedaling. In addition to the pedal seats, there is a lounge area and bathroom on board.
Do I actually have to pedal?
No. The cycleboat has a motor, so no one actually has to pedal if they don't want to.
Can I bring food and drinks?
Yes! Please do! The only restriction is no hard alcohol.
Bring your own beer/seltzers/wines and snacks. The cycleboat comes equipped with coolers and ice for all our drinks.
Is there a bathroom on the Cycleboat?
Yes, there is a bathroom aboard our boat for emergencies.
What happens if it rains?
The Cycleboat comes equipped with a protective canopy allowing our cruise to go on rain or shine!
If there is extreme weather, the cruise may be canceled and we will receive a refund.
What else should I bring?
It's not likely you will get wet, but do dress for the weather. If it's windy or rainy, dress accordingly.
Sunscreen is recommended, but there is a large canopy shielding us from direct sun and rain.
What if I can't make the harbor cruise?
No worries! Join us for drinks and food after at The Anchor!
